Welcome to the home of Accent Havanese. We are located in the beautiful rolling hills of Wyoming County in New York State. We live on a 10 acre parcel of land that gives us an opportunity to let our little furry friends romp and play.
Together, my husband and I have created an environment rich in warmth, compassion and a deep seeded commitment to quality that has laid the foundation to the championship line of Havanese that now grace our lives.
Having been raising purebred dogs most of my life, my first completed championship came about in 1986 on a rough collie. We raised and showed collies with great success, producing numerous champions.
Our first Havanese made way into our hearts in 2005. Since then we have continued the same success in show competitions with the Havanese as we did with the collies.
Our goal in our breeding program is to get something to show and at the same time breed “healthy”, happy pups that can be adopted for companion or show.
To assure the Healthiest possible puppies we have our parent’s health tested and certified with the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFFA) and with the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) yearly. Parents are then issued a CHIC # (Canine Health Information Center) showing they have passed health testing required. We do additional health testing certification besides what is required for the CHIC #.

Just because you find a breeder of Havanese other than us, does not mean that the ones they have are better or worse. Besides doing extensive health screening we do things a little different. We do show but, our dogs are house dogs and get a lot of attention and decisions are made” always considering the dogs”. They are family.
Breeders know that the American Kennel Club will do surprise inspections of your premises. Most breeders dread the surprise call. We did get the call a few years back. When the AKC inspector came he inspected not only our premises for cleanliness, but checked the records, made sure when he scanned the microchip on the dog, it matched the records. After the inspection he handed me a copy of his report and said that he wished he had a place on the sheet for a better score then what they had. He said I would not have another home inspection by the AKC, it would not be necessary. If they came again it’s ok by me. ;-)
